Endless Summer, Endless Fun

A sub-tropical state with the Gulf of Mexico on the west coast and the Atlantic Ocean on the east, there state of Florida offers a seemingly endless area of cultures landscapes and entertainments. In Florida, tourism is one of the major sources of income, something that is easily explainable by the warm weather year-round and the many theme parks that have been built there. However, Florida tourism is not limited to theme parks with a number of distinctive cities and areas that appeal to different travelers for different reasons.

The major destination of Florida tourism is still Orlando. The site of the massive Walt Disney Resort and associated theme parks is neighbor to a number of other theme parks including the Universal theme park, SeaWorld and a number of water parks. Millions of tourists visit every year and it is second only to Las Vegas in number of hotel rooms and conference/convention visitors.

For those who are not eager to wait in amusement park lines, the city of Miami offers a beach city with an exciting Caribbean vibe. A colorful city with a rich musical tradition, Miami is home to a famous nightlife scene, luxury hotels and fine dining recognized the world over. South Beach is famed as an area where the rich and famous come to play, while outdoor activities and family attractions make Miami a great Florida tourism destination for visitors of all ages and backgrounds.

White sand beaches and historic sites are a highlight of Jacksonville, the largest city in Florida. Tourism in Jacksonville takes advantage of the excellent museums, cultural events, sporting, and dining as well as the many natural advantages of the region. A pirating past is considered one of the city’s highlights and visitors will find many references and cultural experienced based on it.

History buffs will appreciate the rich shipping background of the city of Tampa and its sister city St. Petersburg, however that is not all this Florida tourism spot has to offer. A sophisticated city, Tampa prides itself on being a more natural alternative to the Florida tourism opportunities found in Orlando. The amazing Busch Gardens Park combines an amusement park with a wildlife habitat, allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of animals from distant lands in more natural surroundings in between roller coaster rides. Many visitors take advantage of the excellent shopping, dining and accommodation of Tampa while using it as a base to explore the natural wonders of the region.

Dropping off from Florida into the Caribbean is the Florida Keys. As visitors move away from the mainland, they will inevitably discover the more relaxed, laid back mentality that is the standard in this Florida tourism destination. The climate turns fully tropical in the Keys, and the population is much less dense here than in the rest of Florida. Tourism in this area is much like it would be on any island retreat. The focus is on outdoor activities like snorkeling, scuba diving and other water-based activities. A place for those looking to rest and relax, the Florida Keys are a perfect escape for those tired of city or suburban living.
